Mal Brooker is the third generation of Brookers to lead the family of financial service companies. His father and grandfather before him started these companies in a spirit of service. Their philosophy has always been if you exceed expectations, always expect employees to do the right thing, and communicate honestly, the business success will follow. Brooker Insurance Agency was started in 1938 with just this set of values. 

In 2006, Mal saw an opportunity to fill a void in the mortgage industry. Too often, banks and mortgage companies were motivated more by greed and excessive profit-taking than finding the best fit for their clients’ mortgage needs. Brooker customers called frequently with questions and concerns on their mortgages, especially with the onset of the national mortgage crisis, and Mal yearned to help them obtain satisfaction with their home loans. 

Brooker Mortgage was founded to be a trusted source for his clients’ mortgage needs. Our customers refer their friends and family because they are treated with respect, honesty, professionalism, and extensive expertise in the mortgage field.

ANDY MOREAN

Andy Morean serves as Brooker Mortgage’s Vice President of Operations and Senior Loan Officer. Upon graduating from Holy Cross College/University of Melbourne, Australia, Andy started his career in financial services with Wells Fargo Financial, where he worked for 12 years. There, he learned a comprehensive view of mortgage lending, from origination through underwriting to servicing and even collections. This “bird’s eye” training has served him well, and continued in his 5 years with another mortgage company, where Andy learned how to manage a successful mortgage brokerage firm. In 2008, Andy started with Brooker Mortgage Corp., attracted to its sincere dedication to integrity and professionalism. He both originates mortgage loans and manages his team, to make sure the right mortgage product, at the right price, at the right time is achieved. Andy is married to Lisa, and has a sports-crazy son, who keeps him very busy!

JOELY CROWELL

Joely Crowell has been a lifelong Northeast Ohio resident, and had her start with Brooker Insurance Agency in 1996. Taking off some time to raise her active boys, Joely returned to Brooker Mortgage Corp. as our Senior Mortgage Loan Processor. Her understanding of all mortgage loan types, underwriting factors, and her attention to detail are outstanding, and she is in many ways the “backbone” of Brooker Mortgage. In 2015, Joely achieved her Mortgage Loan Officer license, and she has helped us grow our business with Mortgage originations as well. Joely has been married to Steve for over 20 years, and their family enjoys drag racing, which all of her sons and her Husband have excelled at!

Mike Soltis joined Brooker Mortgage in 2015. As a retired Police Officer of 25 years, Mike understands service! Upon retirement, Mike wanted a second career that continued to truly help people. As a Mortgage Loan Officer, Mike takes the time to understand the customer’s financial goals, and helps them on a path toward financial success. Mike is married to Gena, and they have raised two daughters, who are the apples of his eye!
